iaStor.sys is a file which is can be found in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers.
If you find the iaStor.sys file then it is an essential file for your PC. It's an extension of the RAID/ICH system and if you are using a laptop with Sigmatel Sound, ICH is very important for the sound to work. Not sure as to why? However, if your RAID/ICH gets errors, you might have to install XP again or you may have to remove AHCI before you can re-install your RAID/ICH first before you can re-install the other system functions like AHCI. Just Google it to fix this problem. I am still trying to figure it out but I am sure it must not be disabled or removed from the system! This is an Intel product made for Dell. If you find it on your system then don't try to disable it. You may need to fix it or reinstall before you can get it to work again.
